The Archimedes project (KDT JU Call 2022, RIA) was evaluated with 14.8 (out of 15) points and now enters contract negotiations with 50 partners from 10 countries, including AVL, Infineon, Mercedes Benz, Renault, RWTH Aachen, Safran, ST Mircoelectronics, TU Graz, ViF and Valeo.
The goal of Archimedes is to improve the average lifespan of hardware components from the current average of 1-3 years to up to 20 years. SafeTRANS will investigate the impact of this extended product lifespan on safety aspects and existing standards with its partners. Given the challenges of the upcoming energy transition and the growing efforts towards sustainability, research and development must address these issues more than ever.
