Highly automated systems form the technological basis for future mobility solutions. Whilst prototypes of robotaxis, highway chauffeurs, autonomous trams, autonomous ships and autonomous flying taxis have long been undergoing testing, research is being conducted across all sectors to ensure the safety of such systems – this must take into account the respective sector-specific and, in some cases, country-specific regulatory requirements. The workshop provides an overview of the state of research into the safety verification of highly automated systems across various sectors, presented by experts from industry and research, SafeTRANS members and invited speakers, and addresses all phases of a DevOP cycle. Particular emphasis is placed on virtual safety verification methods, as well as on safety verification concepts for AI-based components.
